I have heard about this game for some time, it’s popular and I am late to the trend (as always when it comes to gaming) but this game is 100% worth all the hype. I watched many reviews on YouTube about it then when it came on sale I grabbed it.
This game is very unique and to me, the perfect farming game. Let me explain why; Cult of the Lamb is about you, a lamb about to be put to death when a god, one called ‘The one who waits’ saves you, gives you the task of making a cult and hunt down those who trapped him. This game has two parts, the cute little cult side, you have to save cultists or buy them before being eaten by a spider, and collect as many as you can, build beds for them, grow food, clean up after them (these cute little animals poop a lot) and care for them when they’re sick. It’s like Animal Crossing (expect the cult part), like most cosy games there is the other side. You have the side I call Hades, the small dungeons you have to go through fighting enemies, you have to pick the right rooms and try not to die, if you do, you start right back at the beginning, you have different weapons, different Curses and different rooms with things that want to kill you.
It is literally Animal Crossing/Hades and I love this because the game has so much to offer. I love the cosy part of it, making beds, farming and looking after all the cultist that I have brought home but of course after some time it gets boring, doing the same thing over and over again which is when you go fighting and you need to go fighting to gain more stuff like crops, more animals to save and presents to give to your cult and at the same time, after doing so much fighting it gets a little boring so now you go back and look after your Cult.
This game is amazing, two things so different put together so well and I really came stuck to it. I played it whenever I could, would wake up early to play, play late in the evening on the Steam Deck even when my arms were falling to sleep with how heavy the Deck is.
It has been a long time that a game has truly wrapped me in, and this one is it. I technically finished, killed the bad guy yet I am not done and I have a feeling I will be playing this game for a long time.
I highly recommend checking this game out, too good to miss out on.
